your gonna have to say what species. But yes most do go into a hibernation stage where they hide in dark places or burrow.

All NA Tree frogs hibernate...in the wild. When kept in captivity they should not. What are your temps and humidity, there could be something else going on.
This depends on where you live. Out here in san diego it can get pretty cooled during the winter and the ambient temps drop so my most of my frogs go into hibernation for a couple weeks on there own. If your frog is healthy and well fed then there really isnt anything to worry about.
