    Default ornata or cranwelli?

    Hello everyone,
I was sold this Ceratrophrys about a year ago at a reputable pet store (what I thought was reputable)
They sold it to me as a C. ornata, but now I am thinking it is a C. cranwelli because of the coloring and the protruding horns. I will try to get some good pics on here for you to help me figure out what I actually have. Thanks for reading!

I am trying to sell it locally right now, but I did not specifiy on craigslist if it was cranwelli or ornata. I had totally forgot about the ID before. it was something I was never concerned with, but you have to be when selling to breeders.
The store sold it to me as a male C. ornata. hopefully they at least sexed it right!

I did and the frog has nupital pads so that was my indication of a male. I just never knew the small physical differences between cranwelli and ornata. Now I know what to look for. I didnt even see the ID responses back in Nov. I had finals approaching and I was off this site for a few weeks. I actually never went back to see that post until now.
I posted a picture of "Muddy Waters" awhile back ago and I think someone had mentioned it may be a cranwelli, but that the picture was not sufficient enough to tell.

Can you get a shot of the nuptials and post them here? It's not that I'm doubting you, but if he is a he then he is a good sized male. 4" is large for a male. I have a nearly 4" male Cranwelli. He's 1/8" from 4".

yea.I will get a pic tonight. I would love to get a second opinion, to be honest. I have been doing this frog thing for 2 years now and I have learned a substantial amount of information. A lot of the info I got from the pet store I briefly worked at ended up being false, so it is nice to have opinion from true frog experts.
In the first pic it shows 5" from Snout to Vent. he was quite active when I took the picture so it was hard to get it straight

5" is definitely female. Males rarely ever get close to 5". 4.25" would be either or, but most males top out at 3" to 3.75". If you haven't heard a call yet then I can assure you that you have a female.

That's gotta be a female.....either you have baby hands or that is a pretty big Pac!....lol.

Nuptials will be on the inside, top of the thumb. Will usually have a darker coloring, but a picture of the top inside of the front foot is what we need. Very cool frog!

Definitely need to see the top of the front feet so we can see the inner side of the thumb. Nice and chubby ol!
