My male has started croaking the last few nights. He also woke me up.
Haven't got a Whites, but my tree frog now even croaks in the daytime.
Mine tend to croak at sunrise. I have two males so they tend to feed off each other keep it going for a few minutes. Glurmo is really quiet when he croaks though... But Lrrr can make a croak echo through the whole bedroom. I have the same problem you do, I can't move them to the hallway where I want them because that's where the thermostat is and I use a ceramic heat emitter. I'm sure that would have an interesting impact on the heat in here.
Now, I don't know if any of this will actually help the croaking, but the temp and humidity could use a little bit of adjusting. At night WTFs like a bit of a temp drop. I keep mine just below 80 degrees during the day and around 70-73 degrees at night. Their daytime humidity stays around 60% but at night with the temp drop it goes up to 70%. But my frogs do still croak at night sometimes so I don't think it will make much of a difference on that end, but he'll be more comfortable!
Michelle , I did just that, I dropped the night time temp to 76F but didn't change the humidity setting.
I didn't have to.
With a substrate of water the 76F water increased the RH to over 95% !!!!
So I puled some of the covers on top of the tank and that fixed that.
Luckily after a few nights of very loud croaking LOL, My wife will let me
move the 46G bow front over a few inches and put the new 18X18X24
Exo-terra tall on the right side of the aquarium.
That way I can show him off and he won't be in the bedroom.
now I just have to figure out where I am going to put the retpi-fogger.
I already know I will have to make a custom cabinet/strand so the 24" tall
terrarium will be at the same height as the aquarium so it doesn't block the
view of the TV. (see below)
So I need to do some planning.
And get it done by tonight.
And teach my wife how to feed Bubba and change out his water bowl.
Since I have a 3 day job at the Birmingham airport
starting up 2 150kva UPS systems and setting them up
for a load test/ battery performance test (a real pain the butt)
I don't envy you. Moving a fish tank is the biggest pain the butt. I'm sure you'll definitely appreciate a good night's sleep after moving him though lol.
