I am a new owner of a Male WTF 2.5in SVN.
I loves to sing at odd times and without stimulation.
But he will croak when someone or if you play the sound of a WTF croaking.
I think it is great but at 3 am, This morning at 3:30 and at 4ish
and very loudly. It woke me up even though I was wearing earplugs rated -30db.
At the moment I have the hygrotherm set at 75%rh and 80F
I have a thermal imager and I take his temp right before I go to bed.
His body stays close to 80F and his eyes and nose are at 76F
I will up load one of the images soon.
I wonder if I set up the hygrotherm for a night time temp drop
I just wonder how much of a drop.
And if that will curtail some of his early am croaking LOL.
His enclosure is in the bedroom, I would love to move it to the den
but there is no room.
The only place I could put it is too close to the HVAC return and too close the
the thermostat. The heat from the heat lamp will inter fear with the house
thermostat.
My WTF's did this last Friday night/ Saturday morning, they started about 9pm, still doing at at 2 am, then it carried on when I waked up, haven't done it since, I couldn't get to sleep
I wish i had that problem. I have one male out of six and he only calls if i play a sound file of another white's calling. Lol

My male has started croaking the last few nights. He also woke me up.
Haven't got a Whites, but my tree frog now even croaks in the daytime.
Mine tend to croak at sunrise. I have two males so they tend to feed off each other keep it going for a few minutes. Glurmo is really quiet when he croaks though... But Lrrr can make a croak echo through the whole bedroom. I have the same problem you do, I can't move them to the hallway where I want them because that's where the thermostat is and I use a ceramic heat emitter. I'm sure that would have an interesting impact on the heat in here.
Now, I don't know if any of this will actually help the croaking, but the temp and humidity could use a little bit of adjusting. At night WTFs like a bit of a temp drop. I keep mine just below 80 degrees during the day and around 70-73 degrees at night. Their daytime humidity stays around 60% but at night with the temp drop it goes up to 70%. But my frogs do still croak at night sometimes so I don't think it will make much of a difference on that end, but he'll be more comfortable!
Michelle , I did just that, I dropped the night time temp to 76F but didn't change the humidity setting.
I didn't have to.
With a substrate of water the 76F water increased the RH to over 95% !!!!
So I puled some of the covers on top of the tank and that fixed that.
Luckily after a few nights of very loud croaking LOL, My wife will let me
move the 46G bow front over a few inches and put the new 18X18X24
Exo-terra tall on the right side of the aquarium.
That way I can show him off and he won't be in the bedroom.
now I just have to figure out where I am going to put the retpi-fogger.
I already know I will have to make a custom cabinet/strand so the 24" tall
terrarium will be at the same height as the aquarium so it doesn't block the
view of the TV. (see below)
So I need to do some planning.
And get it done by tonight.
And teach my wife how to feed Bubba and change out his water bowl.
Since I have a 3 day job at the Birmingham airport
starting up 2 150kva UPS systems and setting them up
for a load test/ battery performance test (a real pain the butt)
I don't envy you. Moving a fish tank is the biggest pain the butt. I'm sure you'll definitely appreciate a good night's sleep after moving him though lol.
Well today I need to do a 50% water change so that will make things much easier.
and have a wood laminate floor so all I have to do is drain the tank to 50% and schooch
it over and refill.
I'm so jealous, mine are just starting to croak but only for seconds. By the time I realize what that sound is they are done. I hope they don't make too much noise at night when they do start, because we just got a bearded dragon and he sleeps at night!
LCB...What does your cat think of Bubba?

I have two cats and when Bubba starts to croak they run and hide. LOL
He gets really loud.
You are lucky, I have 3 cats. One could care less, one lays on the floor in front of the tanks, which I just discovered is because it's warm from the lights, and the other is CRAZY about them! For the most part she will sit and watch them but once they start moving she is right in front of the tank pawing at them. If I'm not careful she will sit on top of the tank and look down. I discourage that because I don't want her falling through the mesh or burning herself on the lights, which she has just done with the leopard gecko tank. It's hard though, she's small and fast!
