I'm thinking about getting a WTF soon. I have the Exo Terra 18 x 18 x 24. I'm looking for the ultimate set-up for these guys. I have toads, fowlers & southern in a planted tank that's been up and running for almost 2 years, and going strong. I just don't know if WTF's do better in one of these or one with removable bottoms like moss or reptile carpet. Also on the care sheets it does not show the best humidity range for them. Input please. Thanks.

WTFs like moderate humidity. I keep mine around 60-70%. I highly recommend making a false bottom for your set up. This allows excess water to drain through to the bottom to be siphoned out. A water feature is a great way to maintain humidity. WTFs are great frogs. Tons of fun.
Do you have some pics to post so I can see how you have yours set up? I've had Copes (Hyla chrysoscelis) in the past, but the ones I had did not do well in captivity. They stayed at the top all bunched together trying to get out so they were released back outside. I had raised them from tads from the rain troughs in the yard so they were released back into their original habitat. I've only had native species of critters so this is all new to me. I just want to make sure I have the right set up for them before I bring one home.

WOW!! Well that's a bit more than I plan to do, plus I have a 18x18x24 so space is a bit limited, but thanks for the input.

Gail, I have the same tank you are getting this is how I have it set up for my whites:

4.1.0White's Green Tree Frog (OliveR, Shrek, Skitter,Frankie,Storm)
0.3.0 Cats (Isis, Cleo, Sasha)
1.1.0 Bearded Dragon (Dexter,my girl)(Luci, my boy)
Thanks Gail. I have had Shrek for 7 months and Skitter and Olive for 5 months so I'm fairly new to all this. I used to have fish and hated the whole water thing that's why with the frogs I've done fake plants and just substrate for the bottom. It's very easy to clean!

I have already had to redo my tank once thanks to Glurmo sqeezing behind the background. Now my tank is in a limbo stage until I re-do it. After a sleepless night last night I had a vivarium epiphany. I need to start drawing it out and planning the new setup! The first picture is the original set up and the last two are my current set up. The fake plants that stick to the back never stay stuck thanks to Glurmo sitting on top of them LOL. Oh and don't mind the not yet changed water dish![]()
Don't you just love those epiphanies? And i have the same water dish in my white's temporary enclosure. Except i didn't plant it.....lol

May I suggest using fabric on the outside of the glass in the back, you can use this as your background, and it's so easy to swap out a new color, texture or pattern. If you need to attach a heating pad on the back you can then use cork shelf liner that is self adhesive to cover the pad from the inside. This way they won’t burn their little bellies yet it will still warm up the tank. Over the past few years I’ve done a lot of designing in tanks and this works great. Just make sure you extend the cork sheeting past the heating pad or it may peel off.

That's not a bad idea. I don't have a heating pad so that wouldn't be an issue. My first choice for a background is tree fern panels ( Exo Terra : Tree Fern / Tropical Background Panels ). They're a bit pricey but really cool. But your fabric idea gives me another idea. I've been trying to think of an easy way to better insulate my tank and using felt would do a good job!
Thanks Michelle for your setup picture! I have the exact same size and background but I cant figure out what to do with it since it is an arboreal tank and I have no arboreal creatures yet. I love the positioning of the plants!
Manzy will work. I always thought grapevine would end up rotting long term. All the wood in my white's tanks are manzy or mopani
