Nononono, didn't take it as defensive at all. (inflections are so hard to convey in writing). Just like everyone here, I just want to provide my amphibian friends w/a healthy place to live, that also makes them hoppy...I mean happy. This is my first time being keeper of a non-native and I just want to make sure I do this right. I've seen way to may posts about – HELP I got a frog and don't know how to keep it, and the critter suffers in the end.
I had to take a break from the FF because it just got overwhelming for me. Ok, I'm done ramblin'............

I can honestly say you succeeded in your goal. Your frog(s) will indeed be happy in their home that you built. And i admire the route you toom to do it. I too have seen way too many of those posts. I wish everyone did the research like you did first, their frogs would be more happy and healthy![]()

I've thinned out the ground cover a little, and since I've done this, they spend more time higher up. I don't think they like the sandblasted grapevine though. I wonder if it's to rough for their skin. I'm headed to the Repticon in Columbia next month so I'll be picking up some new wood pieces. I also keep the sides covered with pillow cases to give them a more secure feeling. I'm just waiting to find some cool static cling sheets to put up instead.
Lamb.......hope you are enjoying your new found friends as much as I do.

Here's my white's enclosure, not as beautiful as some here, but very functional. Eventually I'll change it up
Sorry for the side-ways view, can't figure out how to rotate the image (I'm a little computer impaired).
The first pic is of my male white's, Froggy (my 5 year old named him). He fully utilizes the 18x18x24 enclosure, and has destroyed his fair share of plants. The snake plants seem to be the only ones that survive.

I would post a pic of my current white's enclosure, but it pales in comparison to all of these. You guys have some really sweet enclosures![]()

Bill, your tank is amazing. Gnomes creep me out though, I’d opt for a dragon instead. Here's their new 10 gallon hospital tank.Still makes me sick having to tear down the other one.

I'm going to start getting supplies to redo my WTF tank. I'm not doing a planted tank again, but I am going to use live plants in fun pots. So my questions is........................what would be the best thing to put down on the bottom? Continue to use unbleached paper towel? Maybe a layer of unmilled sphagnum moss with leaves over the top? What about reptibark? I'm feeding from a dish now, but hope to get them to tong feed. Right now only Abe will tong feed, they others slap it with their hands, yes I said hands. Yes I want a nice looking viv, but I know the #1 thing is a healthy living space for the frogs. I really need suggestions on this. Thanks.

In the 18x18x24 inch enclosure, I would recommend using something for the substrate that can retain moisture. So maybe a combination of the sphagnum moss (for humidity) and the paper towel? Until things get better. As long as you're bowl feeding and/or tong feeding, the the moss is a great way to maintain humidity...
I use leca on the bottom layer, then the coco fiber... a screen in between the two. This seems to be adequate to keep up the humidity.
In your situation, with the sick babies, I would stick with the paper towel until they're better, but in my experience, the paper towel alone was difficult to maintain humidity (but I also live in the desert).
