My second, and my last, Pacman frog passed away last night. Good healthy weight, eating well and very active [get up and move from burrow to burrow, get in water container etc]. I'm very upset over this, his living area was correct:
80% humidity
80-82 degrees
Damp soil [Eco Earth] on one side to wet-wet on the other
Water dish
Plants, they helped to keep the humidity good
Fed well, was back to eating the way he was when I got him and had eaten 4 Wax Worms on his own 2 days earlier
Handling kept to a minimum, never picked him up unless to move him to a container when it came to cage cleaning
This'll be my last Pacman frog, I don't understand it at all. My wild caught frogs are doing very well, eating extremely well, active like crazy, calling, climbing the glass and again, minimal handling unless to pick up to move to a container when it comes to cage cleaning.
I'm so sorry for your loss its never easy. How old was he? It seems like every thing was right. Its not ur fault

You did everything you could. There may have been some underlying problem that you couldn't have seen. At least he passed comfortably.
So sorry for your loss, I will agree he had great conditions and a good keeper.
just goes to prove life is a fragile thing. Especially with these little ones.
I'm sorry your baby passed. It seemed as though all was right. You gave him a great home.

Sorry to hear thatIt could have been poor genetics.
My condolences to you.![]()
Sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear this LM. I hope it doesn't really mean you are writing off Pacs. I gaurantee he had an unforseen problem that you could have done nothing about. Plus one on the genetics. Where did you buy him BTW?

Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
