Petco $1 a Gallon Sale
So, i'm in the market for a bunch of new aquaria. Today I ran to Petco to check some prices and they were charging more that $40 for a 20g tank. Several times a year they have a dollar a gallon sale, although the dates are a well hidden secret. When I asked today at the store the woman had no idea. I figured I would start a thread so that if anyone hears about it we can all take advantage. As far as I can tell it is a national happening, so it would benefit all of us!

If i did it would have to be small enough to sneak in.
The last time they had a sale I got 2 ---- 10 gallon tanks!
Great time to set up - the all important duty - 1 or 2 hospital/quarantine tanks !
2 - 10 gallon tanks
2- wire lids
1 -tube of aquarium silicone
some old glass ( to silicone into the inside of lids )
cut and silicone the glass into the lid .... set it aside to dry ---clean it--- cover it and hope you never need it !

They normally run this twice a year. Normally jan/feb and june/july (ish). I'm thinking a 55g cuban tree frog setup might be in the works.

I'm going to bump this thread.
I heard a wonderful rumor that the sale will start after Christmas. (That is an entirely unsubstantiated rumor that I heard on another forum however, so take it with a grain of salt).

Yup Heather, i just bought a drilled 40b christmas eve. Paid the same as the dollar/gal, but i was going to pick up some new breeding tanks. Sigh, maybe next week....lll

Just got my 55 gallon last night. I asked and the sale goes until January 19. Contemplating getting another 55 just in case I decide I want it.

No teasing. With built in overflows, they go for about $100. It would cost you 4 times the amount in fuel to drive to this side of the state to grab one though. But you would get to meet me, so that makes it worth the trip.......lolNo teasing now....my Bully would love a 75
