I'm an official Peperomia cheerleader, with a particular love for Peperomia obtusifolia and other thick leaved versions. One of my plain green ones is up to 18" high and has been pruned relentlessly which has resulted in many thick 'branches'. Like a mini tree with perfectly sized leaves as perches for a mid sized treefrog.
They bloom like the end is nigh. Though these are unspectacular in the grand scheme of flowering things, they are noticeable and give a bit of variety so that's nice.
Also easy peasy to propagate by stem or leaf cuttings, so you can hand them out to strangers on the street.
"Peperomias for everyone," he cried!
And there was much joy.
