See? Here on frog forum, we plant folk never roll without back up nice id's Ariel. I can look into the ones you are unsure of when i get home in a few hours. I knew the one was a monstera, but for some reason the deliciosa would not come off the tip of my tongue. I always called it the monster plant when my mom owned her flower shop....lol

it's close, but something just didn't look right to me. maybe it's an Aglaonema 'Siam Aurora'? Aglaonema

4 is capitata 'rubra'? capitata

1 is driving me insane. i know i have actually held that plant in my hand before, but i'll be darned if i can remember what the heck it was!!

number 5 bottom looks like a dracaena. crypanthus don't normally curl their leaves like that and the serrations are too far apart.

Lynn, i 8 is Aglaonema 'Siam Aurora'. and i believe 1's leaf shape to be too long and narrow for a calathea, and the variegation is too narrow along the vein, but it does look similar

Love this thread bill! I'm a big fan of black jungle myself I love sone of joshs plants as well but iv had more then a few just not make it. But truth be told I am a big eBay shopper an find some great gems on there I was wondering if anyone has ever delt with duck weed? I recently bought some for the big water area in my mossy tank. Love how it looks an the Benificial aspects intrigued me. Does anyone know it's growth rate in a vivarium? Iv done some research but come up with conflicting answers.

I want #12! That ones is right up my alley for what I like in plants. Crazy and unpredictable growth patterns. Is it for sure Draceana fragrans 'Massangeana'?

I haven't seen anyone mention Peperomia. I have 3 different ones in with my Pacific Chorus Frogs and they seem to love them.

I wish I had a current picture but there is no way I will get one without having frogs running all over the house, and hopping. The darn things grow super fast in my enclosure and I have trimmed all of them twice, the scandens 3 times and they all need another trim. It doesn't help that it is all in a 10 gallon but they tolerate even the most brutal trimming. Shaky hands can be terrible trimming friends,

The scandens is a little "weak" for the Pacific Chorus frog's as they have beat it down a lot but the obtusifolia stands up to 4 frogs on one leaf.

I do not know for sure if they would grow or survive in a PDF tank or other high humidity tank but in mine they thrive. If I had to venture a guess I would think they should work well in any.

I tried to take photos of the plants we commonly purchase for our enclosures.

I was hoping I got locked in for the night !!!!!! I walked through the tropical areas about 5 times !!!!

no....it's not pillow moss, but i do know it, i just need to look it up. pillow moss is what zoomed sells as "frog moss"

I haven't seen anyone mention Peperomia. I have 3 different ones in with my Pacific Chorus Frogs and they seem to love them.

I'm an official Peperomia cheerleader, with a particular love for Peperomia obtusifolia ​and other thick leaved versions. One of my plain green ones is up to 18" high and has been pruned relentlessly which has resulted in many thick 'branches'. Like a mini tree with perfectly sized leaves as perches for a mid sized treefrog.

They bloom like the end is nigh. Though these are unspectacular in the grand scheme of flowering things, they are noticeable and give a bit of variety so that's nice.

Also easy peasy to propagate by stem or leaf cuttings, so you can hand them out to strangers on the street.

"Peperomias for everyone," he cried!

The blooms I spoke of on a Peperomia caperata 'chocolate ripple' (as near as I can determine), a low growing bushy version that gives some cover on the ground,



Another terrific feature of Peperomias is they can handle having cramped roots, great for sticking in small background holes, or ignoring when it comes time to re-pot other plants.

My scandens just recently bloomed. I had heard it is very hard to get them to bloom but it now has 2 and possibly a third one trying to come out. No blooms on my obtusifolia yet but they are a good 16 inches tall and going to be trimmer very soon to start more. They are actually starting to grow sideways because they have grown taller than my lighting. I love the way they bloom, so unique and odd. I am going to try and start some from seed if I ever get my obtusifolia to bloom.

Maybe someday they will bloom in my terrarium once they can grow high enough to not be trimmed back every month or so.

like Brian, i too, am a fan of perperomias. in fact i have peperomia glauca and peperomia rotundifolia growing in my mantella tank. the other thing about perperomias, is some of them are nice, little epiphytes. i actually have a vine of p. rotundifolia attached to a log and growing out of the water. no soil whatsoever. it is my fastest growing vine in the tank.
