I wonder if that's something young ones do? Mine used to get out and chase her prey around up until she got maybe a little bigger than a silver dollar. After that point she never really hunted except by hunkering down and waiting to ambush her prey.

Yes! The babies and Juvies get impatient about their food Lol! They want in now with as little wait as possible. Once they reach adulthood you will see a lot less chasing and more waiting. Especially if the frog is tong trained. As babies and Juvies I like to let them do both. I feel it's beneficial for them to both hunt and tong train.

I think Trevor finally reached the pinnacle of feeding laziness. She doesn't even strike at the worms while I'm tong-feeding her anymore. Just kind of opens her mouth when I touch the worm to it and waits for me to put it in there then goes nuts and rakes it the rest of the way in with her hands

They will become that lazy and then sometimes just feel like leaping at the tongs before you even get close. Grif will take from tongs and then go through a phase where I have to sit the worm in front of her so she can watch it for about 30 seconds then she grabs it.

Loki likes to do the open his mouth and you set the worms in, but will strike most of the time.

The rest except for those I have to force feed because they have desided to stop eating for no apparent reason(most likely due to seasonal changes) strike every time and my 5" bohemoth Oasis nearly eats the tongs. She's pretty heavy. Weighs 350 grams.

lol lol lol I'm sure that my bigger ornate is more exception then a rule, but she would chase crickets even AFTER a good sized meal, it is quite funny actually how 5.5" frog, that can easily eat adult sized mouse in one gulp, would chaise tiny in comparison cricket.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
