Yes its normal. My ornate does that too. Make sure it poops within the next couple of days.
I've seen it before, mainly on YouTube. My Jimmy did it one time when I hadn't fed him in almost a week. Keep in mind, these are ambush predators. How do you normally feed her? Is it a big tank? The only thing I would worry about is you don't want to put them in stressful situations. If she's used hopping around a little bit to catch something it's not a big deal, but if you're putting her in situations where she feels she has to run around unnecessarily, that could stress her out.
It's ok for them to chase their food. They are normally just sit and wait predators, but they will occationally run down their food. Shouldn't cause any stress, but if you're letting the frog chase it's food rather than tong feeding I suggest. Removing the hind legs of the crickets prior to offering them so that they are much easier prey. This will reduce misses that will result in accidental substrate ingestion.

I wonder if that's something young ones do? Mine used to get out and chase her prey around up until she got maybe a little bigger than a silver dollar. After that point she never really hunted except by hunkering down and waiting to ambush her prey.
Yes! The babies and Juvies get impatient about their food Lol! They want in now with as little wait as possible. Once they reach adulthood you will see a lot less chasing and more waiting. Especially if the frog is tong trained. As babies and Juvies I like to let them do both. I feel it's beneficial for them to both hunt and tong train.
I think Trevor finally reached the pinnacle of feeding laziness. She doesn't even strike at the worms while I'm tong-feeding her anymore. Just kind of opens her mouth when I touch the worm to it and waits for me to put it in there then goes nuts and rakes it the rest of the way in with her hands![]()
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Mine would almost kinda stalk it then eat i guess its ambushing it. Mine kinda walks like an english bulldog when he chases it its actually quite cute.
