First feeding of Bert n Ernie, and Ernie ate all the crickets. Now what? Should I tong feed them so it's fair? Wait till both are active (Bert appears to still be sleeping) before putting the crickets in the bowl? I'm not sure how to best ensure both frogs have proper nutrition.
Bert woke up and I tong fed him three crickets so I know he's not going to starve. I'm relieved.
But what about Ernie... did he eat eight crickets cuz he was eight crickets hungry? Or because these frogs will eat if it's there?
Like a dog, they will eat until they can't eat anymore. If you are using a bowl, put some extras in, just remember to remove them after feeding time. Unless, of course, you're buy the exact amount you expect them to eat?

Lrrr will do the same thing to Glurmo if I let him. What I do is I use two tupperware containers that fit in the tank. I manually put Glurmo in one with his crickets and put the lid on it so Lrr can't steal them. Lrrr isn't fond of being picked up and he's the more active of the two so I just let him get in and eat on his own. This way I know who is eating what.
Thanks for the input. My feedings have been going well since this. I've been tong feeding them three crickets each then let a couple crickets loose in the terrarium for hunting purposes. At least now I know that they are each getting sufficient nutrition, and feeding them both this way makes them both awake at the same time so it becomes a fair race for the loose crickets.
