Hissers are fine but not worth the cost.
Night crawlers do not have parasites. Best staple IMO.
Dubia are awesome, start with about 500 roaches if you want it to colonize and sustain your little frog. Also, you will have to tong feed. They burrow and will often just hold still if you drop em in. I used to flip them on their back so when they start kicking around the frog would attack.
I actually use crickets as a treat. They are very stimulating for the frogs. Actually, since my male is large, he just eats night crawlers and Dubia as a staple but has become accustomed to the tongs and large prey so he is pretty half hearted with the crickets....unless he's real hungry.
