Picked him up this morning =) He's currently living in a 12x12x12 cube with a simple land/water setup. This is just a temp home though, will be building a cool 10-15 gal and buying him some friends in the near future.

He's a cutie . Do you have a nice water bowl to swim in for him?

I have gravel on the bottom sloped up into the corner topped with eco earth to create the land with water surrounding 3 sides of it around an inch deep

If they ingest it yeah, I this is only temporary, all gravel other than the thin layer under the water is covered with a good layer eco earth. His diet while he's in this set up is going to mostly consist of tong fed nightcrawler chunks and tiny dubia nymphs either in a small dish or of tongs so I'm not to worried about accidental ingestion. When I make his permenant home there won't be any gravel. I wanted a small simple setup that was easily adjusted so I can learn about the toad and see his preferences and behaviors before I invest into a permenant set up.

Yay!
Good idea on larger rocks over the gravel. Gravel is fine under the water. Could make a GS foam bottom with a pond?

Sorry for late reply, The reason why they dont want to be tong fed they get annoyed by it,they rather hunt by theirselves I tried it and watched my fbt hunt and eat that's why they dont want to be tong fed am I right or mistaken?
PYeah I'm sure they do love to hunt and have been letting it hunt dubia nymphs on the land section. The reason I want to tong train it, is so I can add night crawlers to its diet. The chunks of nightcrawlers cut small enough for a fbt don't really move enough to draw out that hunters instinct.
On a side note... I got larger rocks and branch I'm in the process off Sterilizing that will go in the tank shortly when I do my partial water change. I added a small ceramic vase and a small terracotta pot both turned on their sides in his water section. Hes love hiding in them and also climbs up on top of them to jump down into the water.
