Hi guys,
I just made this in attempts to find help. I currently have 2 ADFs- Kermit and Miss Piggy and a algae eating fish (its not a placo) in a 10gallon tank.
I have noticed my frogs several times in the past "hugging"but never any eggs even though we watched closely for them.
my frogs are currently "hugging" again right now... I have done a lot of reading on mating ADFs and what to do with the eggs etc and I get it. This brings me to my problem- I never see any eggs. I am not sure if they just have a quickie and dont produce any eggs? or maybe we were wrong and theyre both males or both females (I find this VERY unlikely) and doing it as a dominant thing? I would take the eggs out as soon as I saw them, except for I never see them produce any. Kermit just "hugs" Miss Piggy for a while and thats it... he lets go sooner or later, having produced no eggs, and nothing ever happens.
Why is this?
Is there something I can do to promote egg production? or encourage Kermit to hang on a little longer?
Thanks!
and now they are done... I just checked on them. one is under the bubbler and the other is behind the heater thing... I read that they are suposed to stay hugging for like 6+ hours... maybe this is the problem?
these are pics of them.... but they are no longer attached. (not sure if updatepost worked)
why was this posted in the dart frog section?
