Default Do my pacs need to estivate?

    Hi all,

I was wondering if it is absolutley to estivate your pacs? I am hearing many different things on this subject.
All of my pacs are under a year old and I have no plans on ever breeding them, just enjoying them as pets.

    Thanks!

    That's not the case.
They would be perfectly happy never aestivating. Aestivation can be dangerous if not done properly, and should never be done for a baby/juvenile frog. The reason they do it in the wild is to survive stressful conditions.

IMO if you are not breeding, then there is no reason to aestivate them. They don't really gain much from it, and it can be pretty risky.

Thanks! I would be so nervous that I would do it wrong or not be able to bring them out of it.

Yeah, I have no plans to ever aestivate my frog. I don't even brumate/hibernate my more sturdy reptiles, and it'd be safer for them than for a frog.
