Default Most needed Horned Frog information

Regardless of ones' experience, from considerations of obtaining a new first time animal, to the experience of multiple years working with these, all have a desire to learn more.
What do members consider the most needed, or, usefull information ?
I invite all to voice their ideas.
Please list in numerical, 1,2,3 .

    1. Do research on animal.
    2. Have a suitable habitat before purchasing or getting an animal.
    3. Inspect the animal that you are purchasing for any signs of being unhealthy. (If you purchase frogs from mike no need to worry)
    4. Feed adequate food for animal and keep animal hydrated.

    Excuse the miss-spell, ( simplicity),
It appears there exits a low demand for information.
    Good keeping to all,

I can add most problems that occur and are frequently needing help with here.

    1. Water quality and treatment needs as well as which type of water to use for specific purposes like water dish, Substrate exspansion, and misting/humidifyers.

    2. Proper vitamin and calcium supplementation needs.

    3. Proper climate needs.

    4. Which food items should be used as a staple food source and which should be used sparingly. This also would inclued proper size of food items and quantity of correctly sized food items.

    5. Causes of impaction and how to treat mild constipation in house and when to determine whether Vetinary treatment is needed.

    6. Proper housing and setup info including heat units and furniture.

    7. Signs of illness and what specifically to look for.

    8. How to identify each species.

    9. Signs of severe stress and how to minimize stress.

    10. Proper steps to condition the frog into Aestivation and observe the frog while it slumbers. This of course would inclued how to bring them out of it as well.

    This is just a few.

It appears you have similar responses to two different threads you have created, but in both threads good information has been supplied. May I ask what your motivation is for getting this information? I think that would help in getting the responses you feel would make for a good thread.

Very well put. however, as those, your membership, which find the potential considerations as un-impotant upon informationally based un-biased resources,.........., subject themselves
into an arena of comfortability and perhaps conjecture. I will say that there exists not, any individual or group of individuals, that possess the answers. I am happy that your
merbership(s) are more at ease than I have ever been.
    Thanks to you again Griff

Lol.....uhh OK. Its been 4 hours Hank. Give people a chance to respond before you decide nobody likes you and quit a thread. I know I was like "Holy ****! Hank posted something on Frog forum. If want to stay as a friend I better get on and give him the cyber validation he is demanding."

No offense Hank, but your threads are kind of confusing (I really do mean 'no offense', it's just difficult to figure out what you're asking). Asking for just general information without a context won't get a lot of responses. A lot of people new to the hobby or even just new to the forum are probably hesitant to give out information or advice, and people who have been at it a while don't really consider feeding or water quality 'wanted information' since we've been dealing with those things every day for years. If you could add a more specific context for the type of info you want or simplify your questions you'd probably get more of the responses you're looking for.
Out of curiosity, are you trying to put together a book or something? Just noticing most of your posts have been geared toward getting a 'higher level' of information on pacman frogs for lack of a better term.

In response to the original question though:
Everything Grif said, and I might add in the different bedding options people use (coco-fiber, filters, paper towels, ect.) and the pros and cons of each.

Those would go under housing and furniture. That's why I didn't add them specifically.

    Griff,
Has sort of out-lined a "book". There are many approaches towards developing a better understanding of these frogs in captivity, and I do expect experienced members to contribute
to anything that I may say about this.
Griff and John, You can look forward to a paper which may be helpfull in the near future, for editing.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy new Year to All.

This type of response is off topic, and seems postured at a more personal level. A simple PM addressing your concerns would seem more appropiate in maintaing the integrity of the thread.
Thread "drifting" is probably one of the most confusing and time consuming " learn nothing " efforts,( other than entertainment ) (?), and as such, are educationally disruptive.
Please feel free to PM me with any of your concerns.

Don't take it as he's making anyone contribute. If you want a serious solid care sheet/book then experienced keepers and breeders need to contribute to this task.

there is a difference between expecting and asking. If we are talking about contributions to creating caresheet/book that had to be specified, however the tone of the posts don't do anything for me to want to help in any way. sorry

I wouldn't mind a legit caresheet or book. But I don't think that failing to respond within a couple hours of a very vague post warrants sarcastic and mildly insulting responses either.
