Temps are 70-75 degrees at night, and 75-80 degrees during the day. Humidity usually around 70-80%. Right now it's at 90% because I noticed the substrate was dry so I oversprayed by mistake. The humidity as it is this second is not typical.
He completely buried himself after I fed him a pinky 2 days ago. Any advice? I just want to make sure there is no cause for concern and I should leave him be. My schedule is to change the substrate on Sunday. If he isn't out by then what should I do? Thanks in advance!
They bury themselves like that a lot, it's normal. Your temps are a little on the low side though; for adults it's good to have ambient temp 80-85 day and 75-80 night, and for babies don't let it get over 81-82. Mine will start burrowing completely if her temps go down to the 70 degree mark.
Clean like normal. If you get him out and give him a luke-warm soak in another dish while you clean the tank he'll probably enjoy it
Update: I decided to wait a week to replace the substrate. Jimmy is still buried but he has his head sticking out now (decided to peek out and say "hello" this morning I guess). My plan is to offer a few roaches to him tonight, as I assume he's poked his head out to let me know he's hungry.
