Default Red Eye Tree Frog terrarium look okay?

I just set this up today for my red eye. It is 18 x 18 x 24, has uv bulbs, two live plants in pots (soon to be three, just need another pot), a couple vines, fake plants and alot of water. With an exo terra reptile pump/filter thing.
    Does it look okay?

It looks beautiful Welcome to Frog Forum.

These frogs come to the bottom ( from suspended leaves) of the enclosure to eat after lights out.
They will pick off a cricket walking on a plant , but would prefer to eat at the bottom.
If the entire bottom is water( I can't see all of the bottom) , may I respectfully suggest suspending a bowl
( somehow) for them to eat out of? ( they bowl train very easily )

They are not great swimmers! They need something ( if the water is over their chin) to grab onto quickly ! That something, needs to be something that is not going to injure them if they jump into it, and the water, when trying to catch a cricket. I have witnessed a red eyed tree frog mistake a lighted water ripple to be a cricket ending up with lungs full of water! They are not the sharpest tool in the shed They will dive into the water to chase a cricket (forgetting the water is even there )

They will enjoy the plant in the upper L hand corner. They like to sleep on big wide , sturdy leaves if the leaves are nice and flat for them to plaster their little bodies to.

It looks good! I have the same kind of dracaena in mine (green with light green stripes). Wish I could say it was doing well but it just doesn't grow! I highly recommend a pothos for your setup if you want a plant that will "take over". I've never seen a plant on a mission to out-grow the entire tank quite like my pothos!

    Very pretty .

As Lynn has mentioned, I would just lower the water level or add large flat rocks or a platform of some type. They should not eat on top of loose land gravel though, they could accidentally catch a rock when trying to eat a cricket.

I can't lower the water at all as the pump would not work. But I will add some rocks to it. I just hope that won't be too heavy for the bottom of this tank. I may try to figure something else out.

After all this I'm almost thinking of switching to coco coir. But I do like the fact that it won't have substrate stuck all over it all the time. I don't know what to do lol!

That should help. You could always do a false bottom or a foam bottom with the pump in a deeper area?

the ladies are correct, you need some sort of land for those critters. and unless the pots your live plants are in are sealed, they will most likely rot and die, especially the dracena. if you plan on just putting pots in the water like that, then maybe you should look at some marginal species, like cryptocoryne, anubias, or java fern. conversely, you could also go with some sort of bog plant.

otherwise, i think it has the potential to be an awesome tank

So I made a small change to the tank, I put the fern down in the water so it creates like a mat for crickets, and there are lots of things for the frog to climb out on if it falls in. I also added another potted plant, it is a much bigger pot and holds a snake plant. The pots all have solid bottoms with no holes.

Since I've put him in here he has been much more active, and has even started vocalizing, so I assume that means I have a male? I can't wait to add a few more frogs!
