Sadly i do not have much space for my new frog enclosure. I have purchased a 5.5 gallon tank that i plan to using to house my frog. My question is what type of frog can i keep safely in something that size. My first choice would be some type of dart frog. Is that possible... if so what type of dart frog. If not what else NON AQUATIC could work? a bumble bee toad?
thanks
if you are planning on setting it up as a true vivarium, than I recommend these guys. Phantasmal poison frog - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia they are phantasmal dart frogs. there is also a really in-depth care article on this forum about them. they are a great beginner dart frog, and I think you could have 1-2 in that size enclosure. really though a rule of thumb is for frogs nothing under ten gallons.
5.5 gallon is way to small for any frog to live in even dart frogs. it will make a great grow out enclosure but other then that the minimum for 1 is a 10 gallon some people get away with housing 2 in a ten gallon but i prefer to go bigger.
actually i want to retract my original post... i agree with poison. i did a little more research and you really shouldn't have anything in that size. sorry.
no worries at all. what do you think i could fit in a ten gallon dart frog wise?
