Tadpole questions

What species ?

Hey the thing Is I don't know there assorted he said they can be anything from bull frogs or chorus frogs and tree frogs and such there assorted tadpoles florida species.They can be anything from bull frogs and etc.

I'm not sure about the air stone, as the need for it may vary from one species of tad to the next!

If they are all "different species" they should all be separated. ie Do the best you can to separate what looks like the 'different species'. Putting the ones that look identical ---together. Perhaps get a few inexpensive critter keepers. They could start eating each other !!!!!

Then, they will need to be identified so you can prepare to house, feed, and maintain them properly. ie temps humidity etc.

Sounds like you have a big job on your hands.
How many are you expecting ?

You could post photos of them? We will try to help to identify them.

Sure when they arrive I definitely will take photos.I'm only getting 6 and seperating them will be no prob I can just go to my local pet store and stock up. Wow I just learned something new I didn't know tadpoles ate each other I only thought that happened if one dies, I know frogs do but not tadpoles.

If a tadpole is hungry enough it will go after another tad. Plus you don't want to ever mix species.

Specifically, I meant if you leave them together........... because different species will develop at different rates. Some tadpoles can remain in their tadpole stage as long as 8 months, while others only take 6 to 9 weeks.

Identifying them is going to be an important and difficult task.
Research all the frogs in the region where they came form. Sometimes articles showing an adult frog will also show photos of what they look like as tadpoles.

You know what your absolutely right some some can take up to 3-8 weeks I just did more research, actually I just learned that in central Fl which is where the tadpoles are coming from, there is 16 species out of the 27 native ones in FL but actually the other 11 species is not uncommon to find there either just rarely.The site I went was very Informative with pics and information of each species ufwildlife.ifas.ufl.edu/frogs/central.shtml
Well I hope to get a bullfrog or 2. I also stocked on supplies, thanks for the advice.
