He has closed his eyes and doesnt look well, how do I know if he is evistating or ill?thanks Jackie![]()
Pictures too blurry. I am going to let others who know more about Ceratophrys answer your question.
Hard to tell but I get the feeling it's not well. How do you keep it, does it eat well, temperatures, etc?

Hi the temperature is 28 degrees and humidity 75,he is eating very littlehave offered crickets locusts and earth worms,I have made the substrate much wetter and his eyes are open and he looks better than he did,I am going to weigh him today
What temperature is it at night?
Founder of Frogforum.net (2008) and Caudata.org (2001)
it is 28 c one end 22 the cool end
You mean the temperature is constant, day and night? Is that the temperature of the substrate?

I would make warm baths. Analyze that situation is.
Would provide food to see if eating well. It also would control their weight. With these parameters should not be aestivating.
yes this is with a sensor in the hot end of the enclosure,is that ok?
The temperature seems fine but how are you heating it? If you're heating it from underneath, the substrate could be a lot warmer than you think.

I have the thermometer sensor stuck in the substrate,I am heating it from underneath,is this ok?
It should be, as long as the heat mat only covers part of the bottom. Do you have any better photos of the frog? It's hard to tell what state it's in. Has he eaten since you first posted about him?

The heatmat covers half the bottom of the enclosure,he only weighs 18g I am really upset, although he looks brighter in himself
That seems tiny - you need to take that frog to a vet and explain what's going on.
