Help!

hey guys i know i havent been on in a while that because everything has been going well...but i have a problem now. first off i got two new frogs an albino pacman and a tomato frog. I just fed the, and i noticed this weird bump on the side of my albino. He still went for his food and jumped around normally. I have no idea what it is

Change the bedding and let it be for a few days. I've seen fluid filled sacs on the legs before. Usually I drain them.

I agree with Mike. Keep a close eye on the frog and the sac begins to swell any further seek Vet assistance. Absesses can be more than just fluid buildup so observe diligently.

how do you drain it? and what does the fluid look like when it comes out?

A small 30 guage needle. Just let it be for a week or two and see if it goes away.

well when i changed his bedding from the dirt to paper towels so it wouldnt get infected and when he stared jumping around it popped and the stuff is running out of it now, he still seems fine tho so i will let it drain and reclean his tub tonight

You should have let it be. Now you need a Vet. You may have to get antibiotics. For now place regular Neosporin or Bactine Ointment on the wound. Make sure there are no painkillers in the ointment.

Get a picture of the place now. Also, what color was the discharge?

I don't know if this would be advisable or not, so you probably want to wait for more experienced input, but is there any way to clean off the area without really stressing the frog? Like, just pouring a little treated water over it or something very minor like that. I'm just thinking that whatever was in that discharge probably isn't something you want hanging around in/near an open sore.
I'm a little confused, did you lance the lump on purpose or did it pop on its own?

WOW!!! 200 bucks? No wonder the husbandry and care is lacking in the hobby. These idiots are selling the information for 200 dollars. Lame!

This is where I realize how grateful I am to those of you who actually care about the hobby and are willing to pass on knowledge with no strings attached. Griff, Lija, DVirginia, Mike, all of those who i forgot....lol. You guys are awesome.

I respect most Herpetologists, but I don't know why so many of them become blow hard jack a$$es who are more worried about thier egos than to help the Herpetoculturalists who truly enjoy the hobby. Anyway....stepping off my soap box. Going to buy a 200 dollar book

That book is for vets, written in very professional language and information is also very specific. 200$ is ok price for that type of literature. Usually they are in 100-200-300$ range.

I think I paid 135.00 for my copy, soon after release. Books never die, but frogs do. Would you ever spend 200.00 on a frog?
You do not have to purchase it, just borrow from a library.

one of you smarty pants (making up for my own lack of knowledge by being condescending...lol) should seriously write up a basic care and medicine book geared toward the hobby and not the science and get it published. All of your responses from the price, to the revelation that this is a textbook fall into my gripe that good info is not readily available in book form for Ceratophrys/Pyxicephalus/amphibians etc. on a whole.
