    Ah true... I am not sure cause even PDF tanks with glass tops that isn't an issue since they don't need to bask.

    Now is your fear the glass will get too hot to the touch or that the heat just won't go through enough to provide basking heat? I wouldn't lay the light directly on the glass, I'd probably clamp it.

    oh you can clamp your basking lamp from a side. as long as there's gradient - hot spots and cold ones, doesn't matter from a side or top lamp is shining
    Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
