I caught a wild northern leopard frog, i believe it is female it is about 3 inches long including legs about 1 inch not including legs and .5 inchs wide head. i pretty sure thats small. i don't know how far along it is in its cycle. I don't see any trace of a tail. It looks like an adult but i think they get bigger. How big can it get and how long would it take for it to reach its adult size?
The snout to vent length for Lithobates pipiens, the northern leopard frog 2-3.5 inches, the record being 4".
For Lithobates palustris, the pickerel frog, which can be confused with leopard frog, the SV length is 1.75"-3", with the record being 3 7/16".
really that big? Thats alot bigger. How long does a frog stay a froglet?
Not sure. There are a few variables involved. I would say it will be an adult in a year or so, but this is just an educated guess.
