    Default WTF or GTF?

I know they are both nocturnal but which ones become more active at night and make use of a good size terrarium with lots of climbing branches and what not?

I don't know really anything about green tree frogs but I keep two WTFs. I really think this depends partially on the personality of the frog. I have an 18x18x24 exo-terra with some vines and live plants and what not. Glurmo doesn't really move around much. He has his sleeping spot on the back wall and a stump he likes to sit on and he loves sitting in the water dish and that's about it. Lrrr is a bit younger and loves to jump around and explore the tank. WTFs get a lot bigger than GTFs too so they would make better use of the enclosure with sheer size LOL.

I'm extremely biased towards WTFs, but they really are great

I meant to ask about grey tree frogs, i guess I shouldn't have just put initials lol.

Thanks for the info, I'm torn between the 2 species. I really like the size and aperance of whites but I really like the fact that Greys are native to this area and also like that I could keep a little bit bigger group of them because they are smaller than the whites

I keep WTFs, Grey Tree frogs, and American Green Tree frogs. My personal frog friends are all different...

My green is very shy and I rarely see her out and about. She tears through her food and loves to poop in her water so I know she is active, I just don't get to see it.

My Greys are full of character and eat from my hands. Amazing little wc guys! Also very active at night, because their cage always has little slimy body prints ALLLLL over it.

My WTF is always active and mine personally is not 100% nocturnal. He will sit and stare at us during the day and sit in his water bowl whenever I clean and replace it in his tank. Now at night he is all over his cage. NEVER in the same place when I go into the room, at night. He has his spots that he likes to hang out during the day time.

Frog forum translated the initials for me at the top of the thread as "american green tree frog" lol. Grey tree frogs are really cool. I considered them before I decided on whites. I decided I wanted a huge frog and and grey I got would have to be wild caught because you can't buy native frogs in Maine. But they are really cool. They can change colors and have the coolest call. It would be so weird for me, hearing their call in my home when I'm so used to hearing it outside! Amanda gave some really great contrasting info on the species that should really help you decide!

Thanks for all the info every one, but I think I'm gonna go with greys but we'll see. I'm trying to plan ahead for a spring project. Does anyone know how many Greys could live comfortably in a 24x24x36?

I would also like to note that I am permitted (with loads of paper work involved, inspections, and a fancy card too) to take wild reptiles/amphibians out of the wild for work purposes (Given that the species is not a species of concern or endangered.) by my wildlife department. You need to take into consideration you local laws when taking from the wild AND remember once you take it from the wild it should not be released back into the wild for any reason. This is a subject that can be highly debated and some people are very very opiniated about it (in which we all should be). I highly encourage you to purchase CB animals only. Or to take a young/tadpole and raise it...never to release it. Just my two cents worth on the subject.
