Some quick pics taken of my "rack" pacs. The rack system has made it much easier for me, with all in the same area. Plus all I have to do is pull out the tub (nice lightweight plastic) with no worry about heat pads attached to it. All have seemed to do well with the change (and for many, a change to foam), except for my original "green" cranwelli, who has only eaten a few food items in the last month. I am now force-feeding him some pacman food. I may try to change him back to coco-earth to see if that makes a difference. As mentioned in another post, I do have 2 5 1/2 gallon tanks setup with heat pads and coco-earth, and they are right beside the rack sytem. Those pacs (new green/brown cranwelli; green fantasy) I didn't take pictures of tonight.
Left to right, top to bottom (lengths are approx): male Caatinga (2.75"), green cranwelli (3"), apple hybrid (3.75 - 4"), green ornate (4"), male orange fantasy (2.75"), red ornate (3"), strawberry mix albino cranwelli (2.75 - 3"), and male tricolor fantasy (2.75").
My orange fantasy likes to get totally under the foam and my Caatinga has lately been under a layer of foam as well.
Very nice!! I see youre Apple has changed colors yet again. Looks good.
very pretty, i love red ornate and tricolor fantasy the most![]()
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Did you get that foam in smaller rolls or in a big roll?
Here's my other four pacs -- pictures taken yesterday evening.
Left to right, top to bottom: brown/green cranwelli (2.5" - 2.75"); male "green" fantasy (3" - 3.5"); green ornate (1.5"); green ornate (1.75")
The last two ornates I ordered from an online source last weekend and got them on Tuesday. I had requested "more red if possible" as my red ornate came from the same supplier (just ordered an ornate, guess I got lucky) but think these are keepers anyway.
I had thought my green fantasy was a female due to fast growth rate and high appetite. The suspicion changed a week or two ago when I got him out and found a baggy throat on him plus *possible* nuptial pads starting. Last night, there is no longer any doubt -- he has definite nuptial pads. He may end up being a big male! -- he's the biggest of my three fantasy frogs.
As a side note, I found nuptial pads on my (strawberry mix) albino very recently. I can't seem to get a good picture of him -- he's a pale yellow with yellowish-green spots and a little red markings on him also -- came from Mikes Phat Frogs a few months ago. An interesting, nice looking albino.
They all look good dude.![]()
Beautiful frogs! Great pics
