no uv lighting needed. bulbs in the 6500k color temperature range. actually, between 5000k and 7500k will do just fine. pretty much any bulb made for a planted fish tank or hydroponics growing set up will work wonderfully.

As Bill said, no special lighting is needed for the frogs.

If your lighting only needs to create a small amount of temp in the tank, then Compact Florescents work great for the plants if, as Bill noted, 6500K color temps are used.
13 watt CFLs are good on a horizontal setup and if the tanks are vertical, then 23 or 24 watt CFLs will get the light to the bottom.

Keep in mind that temp can be changed by raising or lowering the lighting.

Another good lamp choice is T5HO lighting. T5HO are more expensive but really puts off some good wattage. Note the "HO" since T5 and T5HO are not the same.

Thanks don, i always forget the sizes on cfl's. I don't use them. Don brought up some great choices, and i would be remiss if i didn't at least mention LED lighting. It has it's ups and downs, just like any other lighting. But they are coming out with some really slick LED units for herps.

Jungle Dawn led lights work great, I have had one for two weeks now and my plants are looking a lot better. The only downside for me is that they are not dimmable. I wanted to be able to hook it up to a dusk/dawn lighting system.
