Hi,
have to start a thread for my long time favorite frog genus: Gastrotheca
Gastrotheca riobambae, female:
all the best,
Martin
These frogs are really cool, do you own any?
Whoa I just looked up these frogs and they're pretty cool! I can't imagine they're common in the pet trade?
I've only seen them for sale at one place, definitely a frog I'd be interested in getting some day. They are pretty unique as far as the way they breed and care for their young. Marsupial frogs. o_O

Another Gastrotheca species. Could be Gastrotheca monticola, but I am not sure about this. What's sure: it's a mature male.

Very neat.

My first trial to edit a video for youtube: feeding of Gastrotheca riobambae with Phoetalia pallida
They look great, you also did a good job with the video.![]()
Awesome!

Currently I am keeping two groups of Gastrotheca riobambae. This is one, while I am cleaning their tank.

Hi,
yesterday late in the morning (about 10.00 am), I caught my Gastrotheca riobambae in the act:
Since a couple of weeks I keep this group (3,5) in a box in the garden. Lowest temperature I messured early in the morning a couple of weeks ago was 4C. Yesterday at 11.30 am I messured 17C.
Unfortunately, the male didn't manage to guide all eggs in her pouch. Later I counted 82 eggs on the ground. For his excuse: it was the first time for both.
Anyhow, it looks like the female is carrying a few eggs at least:
...time will tell, if they are fertile.
Kind regards,
Martin
Guess your frogs took Mother's Day seriously! Good luck getting tadpoles and thanks Martin for sharing excellent photography.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Photo from today - she is still carrying the eggs:
