Hi All! I'm new to the site and forums in general, so please let me know if I'm making any mistakes in etiquette! I have an albino pacman frog who's about 2.5" and everything is going well with him, but I have a question about feeding that I haven't been able to find an answer to in any of the forums. I feed him crickets and was wondering if it is ok to leave a few in the tank for him to eat at his leisure, or do I have to remove the crickets after a certain period of time passes? I've heard too many left in the tank could lead to the crickets biting him, but have been told a few is ok - I just haven't been able find anything to back that up. Thanks in advance!
Hello and welcome to the forum.
you may leave afew in their with him or her. But personally when I use to feed my frogs crickets I wouldnt leave crickets in with the frog becuase my frog wasnt a aggressive hunter. So I would say its up to you. If you usually help your frog catch his crickets then you most likely shouldnt leave crickets in their with him. You may want to switch to earthworms though due to the fact that they contain more nutrition. I hope my answer helped.
Thanks very much, I'll give earthworms a try. Cheers
You can leave crickets in to feed over night, but any uneaten crickets must be removed the following morning. Definitely try Earthworms as Ozone has suggested. They're very nutritious and easily digested by the frog.
Also you can pinch the back legs off the crickets to make them easier for the frog to catch and eat.
Bubba loves Nightcrawlers!Sometimes I rub them on his lips if he is being picky, then he gets mad and bites it. It's funny.
