I duck taped those holes in my tanks. sure it's safe, just make sure you do it well, no loose ends of tape sticking out.

I will definitely try that tonight. Glurmo seems dead set on getting back there so I'm thinking I'm going to have to be very thorough with the tape! And the background is gray so the tape will match!
