I was cleaning out the water feature in my pixie tank and the bottom cracked.
I panicked and removed all the water and got it completely dry. Put sealant on the crack and went to grab something to divide the land from the water in the tank so that the pixie could stay in the tank and be safe from getting in the sealant before it dried. All the while, s/he's sitting in his/her back corner of the tank in the little burrow it's made. I left for maybe 10 seconds, and thought s/he'd stay where s/he was. God was I wrong... came back and s/he decided to jump into where the water used to be. Smack on top of the wet sealant. I know people arent supposed to let their bare hands touch it so I cannot imagine what it'll do to my frog. It only got on his/her front right foot. I immediately ran the foot under water and tried to get off as much as possible. S/he's now soaking in a honey bath and it looks like s/he's shedding?? Will my frog be okay or do I need to look into going to a vet?? Right now s/he's acting feisty and fine, but it's only been a couple of minutes.
Please help! I don't know if my panic is warranted but I don't want to under react either![]()
