    Default Pyxie updates

Just showing updates on my big girl P. adsperus and Boy? P. edulis. Toward the end my baby adsperus. My two adults live quite happily, never have I seen aggression or otherwise even during feeding. They have been together for several months without incident.

Hoping for a male giant to go with my female. I'm aiming toward a HUGE communal setup 200+ gallon enclosure with maybe 4-6 pyxies but this wont be for a few years until I get more adults.

I wish I could sex my dwarf, ive heard s/he croak maybe a year ago but never again so who knows.

Mine will eat almost every day as adults but more and more they prefer to stay burrowed for longer periods of times. I end up having to dig them up from the very bottom every week or two to feed them otherwise they have stayed down there nearly a month.

I can't afford to feed off that many dubia I feel 80 dubia a week is quick excessive if I'm reading that correctly. I feel mine are like fish they will eat no matter what till they died.

A frogs do not eat till they die they know when full and stop for a frogs that's supposed to way 1-2lbs as a adult female I don't see how 80 Dubia is excessive. mine alternates between Dubia and night crawlers so my colony doesn't take as massive as a hit but I have 4 bins with over 1k in each.

Try bumping up your daytime temps a bit. I'm 80-84 F during the day and 72-75 F during the night. Humidity ranges from 60%-80%.

Your temps need to be around 80 during the day, and drop to 75-76ish at night.
Your enclosure is way too cold. Probably why your frog isn't eating. Also, 85% humidity is probably too high if it's all the time.

Edit: b24082 beat me to it lol

I guess this is turning into a husbandry thread now, but on feeding to each their own mine are fat and healthy and are fed much less. If I had the luxury of having 4k dubia I might feed out more along with my worms and crickets.
I'm going to leave that as that, just wanted to share an update. Feel free guys to continue.

I think they look nice and healthy. I think the comments were directed at Ellis, since he's a new owner. Just trying to help him out via your thread.

Goldfish are the dirtiest fish you could possibly keep in there, lol. I would take them out, but thats just me.....the goal with frogs is always to maintain the cleanest water possible and goldfish throw that off track pretty easily.
