hello guys!! I'm a newbie owner of Pacman frog from philippines.. just want to ask some few question.. i got my pacman 2 hrs ago..
what type of pacman frog do i have?
what is the average size when he/she turn to adult?
he/she is currently around 2.5inches... how frequent should i feed? i don't have idea how old he is, i bought him in petshop near us
thanks guys for the response...
You have a Ceratophrys Cranwelli.
Should reach 3. To 3.5 inches if male. 4.25 to 5 inches if female.
Offer food every other day. No mealworms because their chitin cannot be digested and this can cause an impaction which can lead to death. If using crickets offer 5 to 7 - 3/4 inch or 5 - 1 inch crickets. You can feed daily if you like.
EDIT; it's a GREEN Cranwelli. Sorry new update for my phone mess up the colors for the site for some reason. Looks fine now. That looks bad for me LOL!

Grif - Albino? it seems green to meand sooooo beautiful, congratulation!
Welcome to the forum and thank you for doing your research!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
A very pretty green at that!!
oh gosh!! the pet shop owner tricked me...he said its a Ceratophrys Ornata... (T_T) i want that specie because its larger... how can i determine their gender?
Males will develope a dark patch on the inside of each thumb twards their chest. This dark patch is called a nuptial pad and is used by males to grip the female during amplexus. Of course if the frog calls(croaks) then its a dead give away that its a male.
You will probably be able to detemine sex by the next month or so.
Ornate males are pretty much the same SVL on average as Cranwelli males. Females of each species are larger though, but not by a whole lot on average. Female Ornates can be 5.5 inches to 6 inches and rarely they will hit 8 inches. Cranwrlli females can be large as well reaching 4.25 inches to 4.5 inches on average, but can reach 5 to 5.5 inches. I have a 5 inch female cranwelli.
Many shops either don't actually know the species they are selling and will label them incorrectly. Ornates and Cranwelli are mistaken alot, but sometimes they will mislabel a Ornate as a Cranwelli and you get a good deal.
hi i was reading and do you have any pic of this nuptial?
I don't have any of my males available at the moment, but this thread has photos of both male and females.
