it should not, it will absorb the light being that its black but it should not catch fire. just make sure your heat lamp isnt touching the foam. for a more acute answer, the label tells you the minimum and maximum temp requirements. match that according to what the highest heat output of your heat lamp(that may be on your lamp). hope that helps
