    Default Ideas/Suggestions for land/water split

Hello, I am in the process of building a new vivarium for my FBT's and I wanted to get some different views on it. I am planning on doing a 70/30 water/land split and I am just trying to get some different ideas and input on the different ways to do it. If i do the plexi divider is there a good way to hide the silicone/edge of the plexi from the front view? I was thinking of letting moss drape over the top so that was not visible but I cannot think what to do to hide the part that is attached to the side of the glass with silicone, short of painting the outside glass.

If anyone has any ideas or totally different input on how to set this up it would be greatly appreciated! Any ideas or input is helpful!

    Welcome to the Frog Forum!

I highly recommend looking at some other people's paludarium builds. Bill (Deranged Chipmunk) has some great build threads, if elaborate is what you're going for. This one is great:

There are tons of helpful people on here that do a great job with their vivariums. I hope you post pictures when you're done

what do you have that page bookmarked??LOL
Welcome to the forum Sarrix! simple answer is no, if you are using plexi as a divider, there is absolutely no way to hide the seam and expect it to be watertight. the only way is to paint the side of the glass. unless of course, you were to run the plexi across the width and divide the tank land in the back, water in the front. or maybe run the land from the side to the back in a triangle. the the seam would be on the side and a bit less noticeable. remember, nobody ever said you need to make it side to side

oh, and don't forget that plexi, when heated, will bend, so the possibilities are endless

Thanks for the link and the info. Since I know my FBT's like more water I might make land in two of the corners with the water in a T position. That way the plexi seams will be on the sides with still a good deal of room for water. It will be in a 20 gallon as this is my first paludarium so a small start should be good.
