    Default Hello!

I'm fairly new to this site but I'm eager to learn about frogs and other reptiles. My first and only reptile is a Steppe Runner named Voldemort he's about a year old and I love him he is really sweet but as in his name he loves to run and it's just not safe to run around my house with 3 dogs and spaces where he can hide and get stuck in. Do you have any ideas on how I can build in some type of pen so he can run and be safe. Thank you!

    Hi,
    Welcome to Frog Forum.
A reptile forum could help you with a cage design and set up for your steppe runner. They are really cute lizzards! One of my favorite...friendly!
All I know is the very basics: The enclosure needs a warm side and a cool side with a 20 degree F shift. During the day the warm side needs to be 100 degrees w/ a basking light and UVB bulb. Therefore, ( like my Russian tortoise) a very large pen type set up needs to be well planned well to provide the very important UVB. Without the UVB ,overtime, he will become ill. He would love a 90 gallon long aquarium with a screen lid (that locks) and a flat rock to bask on and a nice big hide in between the warm and cool sides. He would be safe ! Check out 'zilla critter keepers" ?

What species of frog(s) are you thinking about getting ?
