Hey everyone, I'm new here and I have a few fish tanks and reptile tanks, no frogs yet though.

I have some pacman frog questions.
    1. Is coconut husk a good substrate? Or is paper towels better?
    2. Can I feed mealworms when young, mice when the frog is bigger?
    3. Should I have a moist hide on the cool side of the tank, or a shallow water dish?
    4. Do I need a tank or can I keep it in something like this?

    5. Is a 10g tank good enough? i've heard pacman frogs get 8" but are LA-ZY.

Any other basic info I should know? Thanks a ton, Joe.

Devon Edmonds covers the basics HERE.
Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!

So mealworms and crickets with the occasional mouse? Do they need special lighting? Can I just dust their food with the same dust I use for my leopard gecko?

I wouldn't use mealworms much. I'd use earthworms as a staple - much more complete food than crickets and harmless to the frog. Yes you can use the same dust.

Ok, I got a tank today and will be going back to the petstore in a few days to get a pacman. They had an ornate and a brown. =) How many superworms should I feed and how many feedings per week?

These frogs need warm temperatures at night - they don't tolerate cool temps for long before getting sick.

I know, I bought a Under Tank Heater and I have a lamp.

So how many superworms should I feed per feeding, and how many feedings a week?

For growing frogs, I would feed every 2 days. For adult frogs, every 3-4 days. If you are feeding mice, (a) stop or (b) that is far too frequent for them.

As for how much, use the 15 minute rule - as much as the frog will eat in 15 minutes.

Could you be more specific on the age or length of the frog to qualify it as a growing or an adult frog?

Age means nothing - it's all about size. Size varies depending on species. As a general guide, a frog over about 7.5 cm (3 inches) would be an adult if male, over about 10 cm (4 inches) would be an adult female.
