provided there is moss growing in the tank and it sends out spores, then yes, moss will spontaneous appear. but on a man made water feature, odds are against it. the spores are going to grow where there is nutrition (substrate, decaying wood matter, tree fern panels). also, most terrestrial mosses don't fare well for too long under the constant running water![]()

i have done the epoxy/tree fern before. it does grow nice. java is controllable, just takes a lot of maintenance. that's why i prefer flame moss, it's a nice, steady, slow grower.
