I've finally found a vet within a reasonable distance from me that is willing to have a look at my poor White's. I'm soooo happy as I was getting really worried. He's not eaten in 2 weeks, and was looking really unhappy (he's seperated from my other White's who is showing no signs of any discomfort and is eating like a pig and singing like a canary!!)
Had a look at the wound on his foot and was disgusted to see that most of the flesh on the middle toe on his back foot has gone and just a piece of bone is showing. It's pretty grim. Fingers crossed that the vet will know what to do tomorrow!!!
Good luck!
Thank you Kurt! Will post an update tomorrow![]()
Good luck from me too.

You're welcome.
Good luck Spooky, I hope all goes well.
Me tooI inspected his toe today and I've decided that it's not bone that is visible but dried flesh. It occured to me that maybe the bone in a frog's leg doesn't go all the way to the end of the toe. Especially in tree frogs where they haver their pads. I'm hoping that it will be a case of trimming the dead flesh off and giving antibiotics. Fingers crossed!!!
I wish you and your critter luck. I wish I had a herp vet that was not a four hour drive away. I can get fecals done here, but most anything else requires me to diagnose the issue myself and then beg my doggie vet to help me out getting/administering meds. I have been very lucky so far, but I fear the day is going to show up where I have an issue I cannot solve myself.
Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!
I know what you mean, the vet I saw today wasn't a herp vet but he said he'd be able to do a toe amputation (have to take Toad, as he's been named, back on Friday). I was also told to put honey or Aloe Vera on his wounds, and antibiotics will be administered after the op. I'm so happy to have found a vet willing to help me out![]()
