I bought Morbo his first pinky Wednesday afternoon. My girlfriend got a little upset about it on our car ride home but after a little while she was over it. So later that night I put the pinkie in the feeding bin with Morbo but he had a no interest in him(he ate a huge meal Monday night and I guess he still wasn't hungry). But after I couple minutes of trying to get his attention with the pinkie it was squeekin and shaking and I felt really bad so I took him out. We have now been syringe feeding him formula since Thursday morning and are gonna keep him if he pulls through.

yeah that happensi had a pet bunny living in my bp tank, he was supposed to be food, but bp was a hunger strike, so they lived together in a same hide, bp was curling around, bunny was sitting in a middle, had to separate them in a few days and get a bunny for adoption. that was the last live food I got for any of my snakes
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
The pinkies are the worst. They look like infants.

Hilariously, my frog, also named Morbo, had his first fuzzy a few days ago!!! But he ate it with no hesitation. I wanted to get a frozen one but the pet store was out, so I had to go with a live one. It was so cuteThe death was not as quick as I would have liked either.
On a similar topic, how long should you wait to feed your pacman after it has a pinky/fuzzy?
Thanks, Grif. My Morbo ate a fuzzy last Sunday. He came from the pet store after living there for one year on a cricket-only diet. Since he took to the mouse so easily, I thought he wouldn't mind switching to night crawlers and actually went out and bought some night crawlers on Wed. I tried feeding one to him each night since Wed and he was not interested. I thought he was still full from the mouse. But since it had been a week from the mouse, I went and got some crickets today to confirm that he was just not hungry... and he ate 4 immediately. It appears he is picky after all! I'll have to browse around the forum for some tips on how to make him like the night crawlers!
Yea I don't feed live anymore after my tegu ate rat pups game over you could hear them scream the whole way down! Rex will not be getting live for that reason

One time I tried to feed my pacman alive mouse but it was too quick so clinker number the head and searching Dot ****ed his *** up as usual I felt bad but I Covent frogs and the food chain is the food chain!
The only reason I'd feed live is if I had an animal that wouldn't take f/t. I mean, I just see no real benefit from it, and a lot of benefits from f/t food if your animal will take it.
Only thing (well... only thing with a spine) I ever fed live was fish, but I stopped that once I moved to a place I can buy frozen silversides. It was cool watching my snakes go fishing, but that packet of fish in my freezer smells a heck of a lot less than the live ones did! Lasts longer too.
haha this is a cute story. I fed my frog his first live pinky earlier this year and havent fed him a live mammal since. I cant watch animals die like that and the main reason I quit working at a pet store is because we were required to gas them. I hope the little pinky pulls through. maybe you can name your mouse and frog pinky and the brain
That would have been funny, but sadly he didn't make it. We tried but from what I read even with perfect husbandry a pinkie sold from a pet shop as a feeder that you try nursing only has about a 20% chance of survival. We gave the little guy a proper burial in the back yard.

Sorry to hear that. I had that same problem. Alittle while back. My Fantasy wouldnt eat a pinkie/fuzzie so I decided id try to keep it and raise it. So I got a plastic bin out some soft toilet paper in their with some cat food and the mouse nibbled in it alittle. After wards I headed to the internet to find out how to care for pinkie/ fuzzy things and I saw something saying that if baby mice even it a solid it will die. So instead of suffering from starvation or stomach problems from the cat food. I put the mouse in the bath tub with my bearded dragon... It didnt end well. The mouse ended up dead and not consumed. But atleast it went quickly. Its nice that you have moral values and tried to save the baby mouse.
