I love both, but ornates growth rate and appetite is shocking to say the least and when you have 5-6 month old "baby" who is over 6" it is very impressive.

Lmao! I'm sketical about referring to Ornates having huge appetites because not all individuals do. I've seen and have a Cranwelli that's appetite surpasses my ornates. It is funny though. So many differences between individuals of each species.

that is true Grif, they all are different even within same species, different hunting technique too, it is funny how my big one would go for food ( fingers, anything moving lol), you know it, you've seen so many times and still it is a bit scary while little one is pretty lazy, like he does you a favor by eating his food.
but still i think majority of ornates are more aggressive eaters.

Last night I had to go and get more crickets since I am going out of town fro the next few days.
I always stop and look at the reptile case and low and behold that was a small carrier
inside of the bearded dragon enclosure. I looked closer and it was a baby packman frog
halfway buried under the water dish that was empty.

I wanted so bad to rescue it. I asked to see the manager and showed him what was going on
and that it was gross neglect to the frog.
to live next to a full sized bearded dragon and have no water and dry substrate.

But if I came home with another mouth to feed my wife would divorce me.

I felt so bad for that little soul.

It's sad, but we can't save them all. I see this kind of situation all to often and all we can do is explain to the store what's wrong and hope the follow it.

Lija he's a cute little guy, and everyone else that shared pictures in this thread your pacmans are beautiful. I just a had a question to ask you Lija, what is that your using as a water dish? I like the smooth edges and it has perfect depth, and also looks very easy to clean.

Walmart, 1 or 2$ ceramic dish for plant pots. Love them! Cheap, easy to desinfect and most importantly perfect depth/diameter ratio for pacs.

Yes the majority are, but I just never refer to them this way, but I'm a fan of each species so I guess my opinion is biased Lol!

Females are more aggressive than the males though so that explains why you must be careful around your big girl

lol i guess males in all species are more likely to be the lazy ones including top of a food chain species no offense
