    do you have pic of yours? now when i have 2 ornates: one sitting currently at 4.5" and this little guy that she could eat in one gulp, it is so hard to believe she was that size 3 month ago, had to look for the pictures to be sure she actually was that small.

    funny though, he looks happy and cute in the pics, while in reality he always looks mean and grumpy

    I love ornatas so much, they are head and shoulders above cranwellis in appearance and appetite in my opinion. Also, over on fatfrogs Minhaoco said that he is pretty sure ornata is the largest species, as he has kept and bred basically all the species for years in S. America, and has never seen aurita much over the 6" mark, but has plenty of ornata larger than that.

    I love both, but ornates growth rate and appetite is shocking to say the least and when you have 5-6 month old "baby" who is over 6" it is very impressive.

    hahaha at some point you learn to have a healthy dose of respect, but to be honest he is not going for fingers much now, complete opposite of my female, nobody in our household are brave enough to even open a door of her tank
