ventilation

I have recently done three dart enclosures.
The are all exo-terra tanks.
I removed the screens in the lids and replaced it with glass.
(BTW way this was not difficult- even for a weakling - like me !)

I have been ventilating with a little fan, but it is not a perfect solution without .........of course, spending more $$$$ to make it right.
Plus I would need three of what ever I did.

My little weekend project:
I am going to use a fish tank air pump and 1/4 tubing? I'm planning to pass the tubing through the 'cord holes ' that are in the lids.
FYI- the entire front of the exo's are vented under the doors, so this could exchange the air. I think ?

Just wondering what everyone think about this idea.

I have done this in 2 enclosures Lynn. I really didn't notice much difference. I know it is forcing air in and causing exchange. I was plannkng on ddoing the same on the mantella tank, except i was planning on using one of my 2 port pumps and push air from both sides. Although i don't need to be as concerned about humidity as you do. Let me know how it works out for you.

Btw.....see any new growth from the moss spores yet?

I was thinking it would simply circulate out the front vent.
I'll let you know if it affects the humidity. However it's quite closed up.

BTW,I have no water areas in these enclosures. I just want to 'pipe' it in, so-to-speak.

The moss growth is in sssssssssssllllloooooooowwwww mmmmmmooootttttttttiiiiiiooooonnnnn!
I see a few little sprouts here and there. I was not expecting growth til ' spring ! D:

Spring sounds about right. Sometimes you get to see little sprouts of things to come
