Default Time length before being shut out

I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have noticed that there seems to be a time-out that takes place when on the site. Does anyone know how long that is? Also, is there a way to change the settings? Sometimes I am scrolling through reading the different posts and then see something that I want to respond to and I will go to send it and an error message comes up stating that I need to be logged in to send the message. I don't feel that I am taking a long time to write in my post, but I do get side tracked by stuff happening in the house. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way that I can extend the time before it times out on me, or at least a way to be notified that it will happen and click something so I don't get timed out? Hope I have this in the right spot! Thanks for the help!

This might be one that ohn would need to help with since i don't know of a forum setting that would do this.

Some thoughts on this are: Are you selecting the keep me logged in box when signing in? If your web browser is set to remove cookies or blocks cookies then the marker that is placed on your computer is being removed by the browser or not getting put there to ID so you have to log back in.

No I didn't have it clicked. I just tried it now and I will play around on the site to see what happens. Thanks for the response. As for what my web browser is set to, I am actually not sure, I will have to check. When I come to this site I have to use I.E. (I am usually on Google Chrome) so I haven't personalized Explorer at all. I will look into that too! Thanks for the post! It at least gives me a starting point.

So I have been on the site for an hour now and have walked away a bunch of times to take care of things around the house, come back to the computer and sent messages without having been timed out! Maybe I am good now! Wow, if so, what an easy fix!
