I've heard how bad Crickets stink. I wanted to maybe breed the worms.
So... Crickets, SilkWorms, and Night Crawlers are good for regular feedings? And ButterWorms, WaxWorms, and HornWorms are good for treats and to help fatten them up?

Also, What size of these worms/crickets would my FBT's need?
So, my boyfriend went without me and got pinhead crickets. I thought they could eat the ones a tad bit bigger then that but he didn't think to ask. How many do I need to feed per FBT, since they are so tiny? I Have Five.
This is the food/gutload I got for the crickets:
Fluker's Orange Cube Complete Cricket Diet - Food - Reptile - PetSmart
Is this good or do you guys recommend something else?
first off, allow me to apologize for us running the inside joke about the spaghetti. i take full responsibility. i am sorry to have hijacked your thread like that. pin heads are fine for FBT's, in fact, they are better than the large ones. i don't own any, but maybe someone can chime in on a good amount to start with.
as far as the gut load, i have never used that product. i always just tossed some oatmeal in the cricket tank from time to time whenever i watered their sponge.

Yep! I don't think hornworms are good for putting on weight though. I think they have a good amount of nutrition, but if fed too much can cause diarrhea.
Food items should be no larger than the length between the frog's eyes.
As for how much to feed, since they are thin, I would give them as much as they will eat in 10 minutes.
I haven't used the fluker's cricket diet but it should be fine. I gut load with orange slices, carrot slices, and a cricket gut load I got from Josh's Frogs. I think they like romaine lettuce too.
Thank youI plan on ordering some worms online.
You are welcome! If you have any questions later on feel free to ask! Also, we love pics here so maybe when the little guys get settled in you could post some of the toads and enclosure?![]()
I just feed them some crickets... They had a ball! But one of them (Camo, The only Brown One) hasn't moved or anything when all the other ones are so active and Hyper. I'm starting to get worried.
I am sorry to hear that. I don't know what the problem could be. Maybe he is still a little stressed? I wonder if they could have parasites since they are thin? Can you take a fecal sample to a vet and have it tested?
I dangled some crickets in his face and he ate them... I'm hoping it's just stress and he'll be fine in a couple of days. I'll keep you updated.
