New Orchid

Today I was happy to receive a Lepanthes Calodictyon. Now I just have to keep the thing alive, which I have heard is fairly hard. I plan on purchasing some ecoweb and hygrolon to grow this and my other orchid on.

Very nice! Where did you find that gem at? I'm currently looking for a reputable grower of miniatures.

I ordered both of mine from ecuagenera...I didnt realize that this orchid was so small, I was thinking about putting it in with my mossy tree frogs but now I am not sure. Here is the other orchid I got from them a couple months ago...Pleurothallis dodsonii

D Very cool. I have to check them out. Thank you. I'm still learning about orchids. Didn't realize how much was involved. Seasonal changes, cultural issues and such. Have you worked with them before? Orchids i mean.

These were my first two...talk about jumping into the deep end..haha
My ecozone controller mimics the seasons right now with the lighting, heating and misting. Makes controlling the environment easy, which I hope will help me not kill these awesome orchids. I also have these under a jungle dawn led.

I gotta think about getting a controller. And if you're gonna jump in to the pool, might as well go feet first in the deep end.....lol

i know how that is. i tried twice with an orchid and it died both times. the jewl orchid is happy as can be but the other one i tried died both time. its pretty i like the leaf patterns
