Hi,
i recently just transferred my whites into a 60x45x90 exo terra terrarium and I used some glass to make a separate waterfall area. When I first put them in they use to always be in the water, however, now one tends to hide under the background which I cut out for the water, and the other hides up the back, where the wires are meant to go. I'd like to know if this is normal and whether it would be a good idea to fill in the whole with pebbles (etc). I can post pictures if you need them but just wondered if anyone had experienced this problem, they very rarely enter the side of land, and thre is ALWAYS a few crickets/locust left over!
thanks EJT97
Pics would be a bit helpful, also, the parameters of your setup would also be helpful, such as temp, humidity ect. How long ago did you transfer them? Maybe they are just looking for a nice spot to catch some zzzzzz's![]()

The temperature is 71 degrees and the humidity is 65 , I will attach some pics and I transferred them 5 days ago, and one frog went missing for about 2 days, only when I realised it was up the back of the background!
Sorry for the poor pics, ipad playing up but if I explain it it might help:
basically I have cut out the bottom corner of the background so it doesn't start rotting (due to water). However, where there is a section for the wire to go up the frogs keep climbing up it, also, they are avoiding the land part during the day, to start with I thought they were adapting well, however, they are just hiding in that corner. I can barely see them and they look very bored and lazy.
in my old tank they were fine and moved loads, the food was always gone but they were outgrowing it, but I thought if I get a big tank I can get them some more frog friends.just wondering whether it would be good to block it or not?!
looks to me like he is just enjoying the shade. i'd leave it. my white's sleep all over the place. at the top of their home, hidden under broms, in the water feature. if there's room for them in the tank, they have slept there....lol as long as they are eating, keep an eye on them and see how they do. just out of curiosity, why did you cut that section out of the background? styrofoam doesn't rot.

Oops, thought it would rot
They should be fine - as long as they're not going to get stuck back there, let them be where they're comfortable. They're a nocturnal species so if they weren't sleeping there, they'd be sleeping somewhere else in the day. I would just add that if crickets are not getting eaten or end up drowning in the water, you may want to keep them in a bowl.
