    Default Mite paper !

Hi Lynn, I've actually never heard of it. Pretty neat. I have, in my research, decided to order joshsfrogs mite spray. I have not had any mites nor do I want any and would like to be prepared.

Though, my two cobalts eat so many ff that I doubt I'd get to the 28-30 day time frame when they usually invade. I start each new culture 2 weeks after I start feeding out of the current culture so the new culture is ready 2 weeks later. So far so good (crossing fingers).

Let me know if you give the shelf paper a try. I'd like to know if it works well .

I originally thought that it was for preventing mites in the enclosure. Don't know why.

    I will be trying this.
I do not have any mites ; and ditto! I do NOT want any!
I am culturing 2 size FF. So I thought this would be worth keeping in the bin w/ the FF cultures containers
My cultures are taking longer than 2 weeks.

Once I had mites in a cricket bin. OMG What a mess. I since have moved the crickets-clear- across the basement !!

How are you doing w/ isopod cultures? Mine are finally going nicely. I guess I have to warm things-up a bit.
They are doing better in the enclosures than in the culture containers. ( not for long though) I am planning to transfer the darts from quarantine soon.

I'm going to turn into a hermit crab down in the basement ! Thanks goodness the cats keep me company.

    Thanks Heath

    Ha ha! I hear ya!

Isopods are coming along. I haven't fed any out yet. Still need to wait a bit longer.

My darts are still in quarantine too. It's sad to say, but I feel comfortable with them there bc I know everything they do. Soon I'll be making their viv. I'm not getting a mental image of what I want yet. Hmmm.

I'll be excited to see yours in their new home .

Since the enclosures are all essentially done, with the exception of a misting head adjustment, I really don't know what I am waiting for, actually ? I even pulled-out all the screens on top and replaced them with glass. ( I am really, really bad a cutting glass)

It's not like they are going into enclosures with other frogs inhabiting the space. They are all nice and chubby !
In fact, the auratus probably need to move. They hate their quarantine tank!

You cut your own glass? Wow! (Impressed)

Maybe bc mom feels comfortable watching so close their habits? I know that's why I haven't rushed .

I can't decide whether I want to use my 40 breeder? Or get another Zilla or zoo med tank? Quarantine has gone perfect though . They eat well, poop, they're energetic. They look great! Don't you just love them? They are definitely my most energetic and explorative. So cute!

    Hi Heather,
A zoo med is nice, more $$ though. I think. But no screens.
What ever you do and create will be wonderful, of course.

I moved all the darts this AM. I was down there at 7am....... Hooray !
OMG, they are so happy ! It was very rewarding to watch.

    I'll get some photos up.
I added 3 album cover photos for my dart albums.
My son took the photos for me.
He has a real camera! Ha! I use my iPhone.

Awesome! I can't wait to see!

I'm on the tapatalk app from my iPhone. I take my pics from my phone too. I told my hubby it's time for the iPhone 5 bc the pictures just aren't clear enough, haha! He laughed. Though, seriously, that's why I want the 5....better photos with more memory to save them .

I bet your darts are so happy . Are they exploring everything? Did you sit and watch them forever ?

I went to a local store, yesterday, that has the "mite paper". I read the information on the package.
Insecticide near the FF ? I really don't think so.

I'm having trouble thinking that this is actually being used to line a bin or shelf where FF cultures are stored?
    Is it just me?

    Default Mite paper !

Does it say the name of the insecticide?

I wonder what joshsfrogs uses in their mite spray?

Would it be safe near the ff when they are used as food? Hmmm....
